The Foreign Secretary, David Miliband MP, was the main speaker at the event, which was packed with party members, MPs, MEPs and the press.

LME Chair Mary Creagh MP addressed the audience and managed to amuse the panell.

Gary Titley, leader of the Labour MEPs, gave a rousing speech attacking the Eurosceptic right.

LME Chair of the MEPs, Richard Corbett, spoke about the importance of the Reform Treaty.

Former Labour leader Neil Kinnock was forced to stand for much of the event because it was so packed but eventually got a seat and a chance to speak when David Miliband left a few minutes early.
